Why I Write

What is your favourite hobby or pastime?

There are many ways to listen to life — through conversation, through silence, through the pages we fill. For me, writing has become the way I pay attention. It’s how I make sense of what lingers, and how I learn to live awake.

Ink.
Quiet.
A thought takes shape.

A throwaway line,
a podcast whisper,
a sermon that lingers.

The world speaks in fragments—
in conversation,
in kindness,
in a moment of grace
so ordinary you could almost miss it.

Writing slows me down
enough to notice.
It lets the soul catch up
to the speed of the day.

I don’t write for applause.
Or algorithms.
Or to prove a point.
I write because I must—
because reflection
is my form of breathing.

I write
to reflect,
to turn over a moment
until it catches light.

Not for fame.
Not for followers.
For depth.
For play.
For discovery.

I write to embody—
to live what I learn.

And when words help another,
I smile,
and keep writing.
