What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?
My wife calls me a camel. She’s right — I can go long stretches without drinking. There’s always something else to do first: an email to write, a meeting to get to, a thought to finish before it fades.
She sometimes hands me a glass of water and I’ll take it reluctantly, sipping like it’s an interruption instead of a gift.
It’s funny how easily I can forget what keeps me alive.
Maybe that’s the reason we skip small things in our routines — not because they’re unimportant, but because they’re too ordinary to notice.
A glass of water. A deep breath. A slow walk.
Each one is reminder: life isn’t asking for efficiency; it’s just there waiting to be experienced.
So from now on I will find ways to Stop. Drink. Think.
