Every morning begins the same way. I open WordPress, not for work and not out of duty, but because it’s my sandpit — the place I play with words. For 215 mornings straight I’ve written something there, sometimes serious, sometimes small. Writing steadies me. Some people think by talking. Some people need quiet reflection. But I write my way to clarity. It’s how I think.
Beyond that daily ritual lie the other corners of my online life. The practical ones: banking, bills, bookings — the digital hum of an ordinary week. And then the ones that feed my interests. BBC Sport keeps me connected to European football; Foxtel gives me live cricket, golf, and Formula 1 when the timing works. I read books online because I like to have my library with me everywhere I go. And I have eclectic musical tastes, so music often streams quietly in the background.
So much of life now passes through a screen. But in that morning sandpit, I remember that words still have texture, and play still has purpose.
