Elon Musk has not yet become a trillionaire.
Halfway there, they say —
five hundred billion reasons
to keep going.
More than the worth of a hundred and sixty nations,
and still, he works
one hundred and twenty hours a week.
What drives a man
who already owns the world?
What motivates you?
What keeps your mind awake at night,
or sends you running before dawn?
The Scripture says,
Brace yourself —
gird up the loins of your mind.
Tuck in your thoughts,
clear the path,
run free toward the horizon of grace.
Because if you belong to Jesus,
eternity has welcomed you.
Your inheritance cannot crash,
cannot be hacked,
cannot spoil or fade.
You are wealthier than empires,
richer than the race to Mars.
So why do we still live
as though this moment were a destination?
We stack bricks on the sand,
build dream houses,
curate perfect transcripts,
pack for the holiday of a lifetime —
but all of it stops
when the sky splits open
and the true Home appears.
Be hopeful.
Don’t dread that day —
it’s the day of greatest joy,
the day hope grows wings.
Soldiers lay down arms,
students close their books,
builders drop their tools,
preachers fall silent
and let the Man speak.
Be holy.
Set apart,
like astronauts training for another world.
Three hundred and fifty hours in a space suit —
and we complain about a lifetime
of learning to love.
But this moment,
Paul Tripp reminds us,
is not a destination.
It is preparation.
Our Father’s house awaits.
He is refining our faith by fire,
testing our hearts not to punish
but to purify.
So love one another deeply,
from the heart.
For eternity is worth the wait.
It is better there, greater there —
and it is free.
Be hopeful.
Be holy.
Live for the world that is coming.
